Test knitting is an essential step in creating accurate knitting patterns. Test knitters get to try out the pattern before it's published to make sure that all the instructions are clear and easy to follow, and provide feedback on sizing and yarn usage for the project.

It's really helpful to have a range of experience levels test patterns meaning your skill level and experience as a test knitter is not as important as being able to:
Knit to the specified gauge; you can substitute the yarn you use for your project as long as it matches the pattern gauge and weight.
Follow the pattern exactly as written.
Create a project on Ravelry including photos of your finished item.
Share your finished project on Instagram and/or Facebook after the final pattern is published.
Work to the given deadline for the test knit; deadlines range from four to five weeks for small accessories and eight to ten weeks for larger projects.

As a test knitter, you get early access to the pattern before publication; when the pattern is published, the final pdf will be added to your Ravelry library.
After the completion of a test knit, you will receive a free pattern of your choice from my Ravelry store.
